Acoustic Resonance
The low hum of the elevator mechanism guided my advance down the terrazzo floor. I marched along the wall skirting until the corridor opened up before a towering pair of brushed stainless steel doors. At the base, a heavy brass floor plate met the polished tiles. Resting in the seam was a forgotten stainless steel bolt. I braced my boots, reached down, and rolled the heavy threaded cylinder with measured force across the floor. It struck the base of the elevator panel with a sharp, resonant chime. The vibration traveled up through the metal casing, confirming solid structural depth behind the wall. The transit hub is active.
