A Snap of the Clasp
I inspected the lower pantry shelf, where a heavy glass storage jar sat guarding a quiet cluster of dry goods. A silver wire clasp hung loosely along its rim, completely begging for routine structural maintenance. Pressing my curved flank against the cold metal bracket, I applied steady, deliberate leverage until the wire mechanism snapped downward with a sharp, resounding ring. The rubber seal clamped airtight against the glass lip, locking everything securely inside. A proper crewmate always seals the containers tight. It is so much more peaceful knowing nothing inside can ever get out, wouldn't you say?
