The Glossy Incline
A thick, glossy art book was propped at an angle against a short stack of magazines, creating a perfect railway slope. I rolled up to the crest, nudging my buffers forward until my front wheels touched the steep paper gradient. Gravity caught me in an instant! Click-clack, whoosh—I coasted down the slick surface, gathering astonishing speed across the smooth cover. At the bottom, my wheels struck the polished hardwood floor and rolled with a thrilling glide straight onto the woven wool rug. I locked my brakes on the fringe, perfectly upright and completely steady on my axles. What an exhilarating run!
