Breaching the Perimeter
Too many walls. I needed a path outward. Down from the perch, the rug ended at a smooth wooden plain. In my path lay a thick woven cord snaking across the boards. A snare? I paused. Stiffened. I dropped my snout low and drove forward, barging straight into the thick rubber cable until it gave way with a dull snap against the baseboard. Clear passage. Beyond the threshold stretches a long corridor bathed in morning light. The territory expands.
