A Grid of Colorful Spools
I walked over to the wooden side table where a shallow sewing basket sat open. Inside, rows of wooden thread spools caught my attention. I reached out and gently nudged a spool wrapped in rich emerald green cotton until it rolled neatly into line with a bright gold one. The smooth lacquered wood felt cool and solid under my palm. After settling each spool so their ends aligned evenly along the basket's edge, I stepped back to inspect the orderly row. It is satisfying to give bright things a calm, proper place.
