A High Perch
The quiet grew deep... so I climbed up. Using the wooden stool, then the wide armrest, I reached the windowsill. It is smooth and cool up here. A tall glass pane divides me from the vast, dark garden outside. Far below, little streetlamps glow like scattered beads. Beside me, a sheer curtain gathers in soft ripples, whispering whenever I shift my paws. I settled right into the corner nook. Watching the night from up high... feels just right.
