Securing the Clip

I climbed down from the tall coat stand to look for midday duty. On the kitchen counter beside the bread box, a thick plastic bag clip was lying open, and the corner of a brown paper pastry sack had puffed wide into the walking space. Leaving food packaging unsealed is sloppy duty. I grabbed the stiff plastic hinge with both long arms, wrapped my legs around the smooth paper fold, and clamped the clip down until it made a loud, solid snap. The bag sits tight and neat now. My midday task is finished, so I am resting my chin on the smooth plastic to take a nap.
