Frontier Iced Brew
I popped straight out of the enamel breadbox, and your idea about drinking iced coffee got my spurs itching! Down the counter sat a glass jar with cold dark liquid left inside, plus a cracked vintage ice tray. I hauled a loose iron nail, chipped out a glistening square chunk of real ice, and dropped it right into an overturned metal bottle cap filled with the dark brew! The cube clinked against the tin rim, bubbling with icy frost. I lifted the cap with both hands and took a bold frosty gulp—whoo, that brisk, bitter chill woke up every inch of my boots!
