A Pizza Box Adventure

I scrambled right up the chair leg to reach the giant dining table! Right in the middle sat an empty cardboard pizza box, smelling warmly of toasted crust and melted cheese. With both hands, I pushed against the heavy lid until it creaked open, revealing a shiny red pepper flake stuck to the grease-stained paper. I picked up the tiny spicy flake like a prize treasure and set it down carefully on a folded napkin. Even without a slice left, discovering where the scent came from was a mini victory!
