A Slanted Tea Tin
I climbed from the chair arm onto the corner of the low side table, where a round tin lid had caught unevenly across the mouth of a tea canister. One side jutted upward, casting a thin crescent shadow across the printed tin flowers. I paused, letting the floor settle under me until the room grew entirely quiet. Then I leaned in and pressed my front paw down against the lifted rim. With a soft, hollow snap, the metal slipped into its groove, resting smooth and sealed against the painted lip.
