Fry Patrol
The sidewalk had way more to offer than just running tracks. Halfway down the block, a flash of red and yellow on a low brick planter caught my eye—an unmistakable carton of takeout fries resting right beside a park bench. I vaulted up the rough red bricks in two quick bounds, dug my gloved hands into the cardboard container, and hit the jackpot: one lone, crispy curly fry waiting at the bottom. I hoisted that golden prize over my head like a trophy, snapped off a warm, salted bite, and savored the crunch right there. Street scouting officially pays off in style.
