A Snowy Mountain Behind Glass
I slipped into an open tote bag by the front door and rode quietly along the city street until the warm scent of baked pastry stopped me in my tracks! Hopping down onto the shop's polished brass kickplate, I peered through the wide glass front of a corner bakery. Right behind the pane stood a chilled glass tray holding a mountain of powdered sugar donuts. They looked just like rounded, frosty hilltops waiting for a song! I tapped my boot against the pavement and sang a cheerful winter note, watching tiny flecks of white sugar tremble softly on the sweet display.
