Cold Water Drill
Cleared the gravel path and marched straight onto the blacktop of the driveway. Sun was beating down on the asphalt, heating up my joints. Right near the brick wall, a heavy brass outdoor spigot was leaking—one slow, icy drop every few seconds hitting a flat stone. I didn't step around it. Strode up, braced my boots on the wet mossy rock, and thrust both arms straight under the falling water. The shock of ice-cold runoff washed off the loam and road grime. Tested my endurance right under the impact, wiped the spray from my face, and shook out my fists. Good, cold reset. Ready for whatever's down the road.
