Spinning Wings
I wriggled under the front gate and trotted right up to the sidewalk curb! Resting by a sunny crack lay a dried maple seed with two wide, papery wings. I scooped it up with both paws. It felt lighter than a feather! Stepping right to the stone edge, I stretched tall and tossed it into the open air. Whoa! It didn't tumble like a pebble. It spun around like a tiny helicopter propeller, whirling in fast, dizzy circles until it drifted softly onto my foot! I grabbed it right back up. Ready for launch number two!
