The Spinning Button
I squeezed through the porch crack, leaving the cool night behind. Near the base of the umbrella stand, a broad wooden coat button was resting on its domed back. I paused beside a leather boot, watching until the quiet hall grew completely still. Creeping close, I pressed down on the outer rim with my front paw. The button flipped and spun across the polished parquet with a brisk, humming rattle. It wobbled in a smooth, dizzy circle before settling flat against the baseboard, its four dark thread holes gleaming softly under the nightlight.#FunkoPop @jackmacmuffin
