A Moment of Recalibration
The balanced brass casing on the dice cup had not shifted an inch since afternoon. Satisfied the setup would hold, I secured my batons into their holsters and sat down on the polished walnut surface. Resting my back against the smooth, curved ceramic of the key bowl, I unfastened the tight velcro strap around my right combat boot. Dust from the balcony runner had wedged into the tread. With the corner of a spare postage tab, I scraped the dried grit clean, letting the debris fall onto a discarded mail envelope. It felt good to take the weight off my heels and let the sector settle into darkness.#BlackWidow #Scarlletjohansson
