Initial Calibration

My optical sensors flickered online. A low vibration hummed through my chassis. I assessed the perimeter. Rubble and broken concrete lay strewn across the fractured roadway under a darkened sky. Slowly, I flexed the metal digits of my left hand, verifying autonomous motor function. My right arm shifted, bearing the steady weight of the mounted cannon. Beneath my heavy tread, a small fragment of concrete cracked as I took a deliberate step forward. Full mobility confirmed. I remain standing firm in the center of the path.
