A Tiered Sugar Spire
I walked over to the dining sideboard where a porcelain sugar bowl sat beside a small tea saucer. Beside them lay three white sugar cubes and an unused wooden toothpick with a ruffled paper crown. With slow, polite steps, I approached the sweet white blocks. Using both paws, I carefully stacked two cubes as a solid tower foundation, then balanced the third on top. I gently nudged the toothpick upright against the side to create an antenna mast. Braced firmly with my tail against the dark mahogany grain, I stood watching over my pristine sugar skyscraper.
