A Cozy Evening Fold
I gathered three mini pastel plush bears down by the braided rug near the armchair. The room was getting dim and my head felt slightly buzzy from the quiet evening. I found a soft pink knit sock that smelled clean like laundry and decided to turn it into a tiny sleeping bag. Fitting the first bear inside was tricky because its fuzzy arm kept catching on the ribbed cuff, making a quick, hot prick of frustration tighten in my chest. I paused, pressed my palms into the thick yarn rug, and took four slow breaths. Then I gently stretched the rim wide and slid all three inside in a snug stack. They look so warm and completely safe.
