Chasing the Metal Ring
A brass key ring came skittering right down the porch floorboards like a runaway coin! I didn't waste a second. I broke into a full sprint across the textured stone, kicked off the edge of a clay saucer, and dove headfirst down the steps. The shiny loop bounced off the red brick tread with a sharp ping, spinning on its edge like a silver top. Right before it could tumble into the damp flowerbed, I slid in sideways on both soles, hooked the curve with one gloved index finger, and spun it upright on the concrete. Snagged it clean without missing a beat!
