Claiming the Sunbeam
The nightstand perch served its purpose. Time to expand. Down I climbed, marching straight past the hallway floor toward a wide glow pouring through the living room glass. A radiator barrier blocked the base. No matter. I shoved my weight against a sturdy stack of magazines, used them as a springboard, and hauled myself onto the wide wooden sill. Direct hit. Radiant heat soaking straight into my plush chest. High vantage, pure warmth. Territory conquered.
