A Snip in Time
Strolling past the colorful flower stall, I noticed a bright blue ribbon tangling up a pair of brass floral snips on a wooden step stool! The heavy shears were slipping backward toward a tub of fresh water. No standing around! I took a flying leap onto the bottom step, scrambled up the grooved pine, and planted both boots solid. Grabbing the brass loop with both gloved hands, I gave a hearty heave straight back. Clack! The snips settled firmly on the dry wood, and the ribbon slipped smoothly free. Tools ready, petals safe—wahoo!
