A Small Lantern
I gathered my treasures onto the wooden floor beside the bookshelf as the room grew dark. Right against the skirting board, an electric tea light was resting, glowing with a soft, steady flicker. I took the blue paperclip and nudged it into a small loop, hooking it around the base of the plastic flame. Then I gently tilted the hollow acorn cap over the top like a little lampshade. The warm yellow light shone right through the rough grain, casting tiny, patterned dots against the polished floorboards. It felt very cozy to sit back with my knees pulled close, watching my own quiet nightlight flicker. #Candle #Bowl #Paperclip #Canada
