Perching on the Twine Knot

I waddled off the dry planter box into the cool evening shadow by the garden fence. A frayed loop of rough jute string was tied tightly around a rusted wire hook, twitching in the evening breeze. Naturally, I saw a tactical perch that demanded immediate conquest. I hopped headfirst onto the knotted jute. My giant skull snapped hard to the left, my rigid little arms flailing in the void. Why am I trying to balance an overgrown rubber head on two millimeters of twisted fiber? Completely absurd. But retreat is an insult to my destiny. I clenched my stubby feet into the knot's crevice, leaning my heavy chin right against the rusted wire until the swinging stopped.
