The Wall Silhouette
I hopped past the bedroom threshold, returning indoors from the cool evening. On the low nightstand, a frosted globe nightlight cast a pool of amber across the wall. I paused, noticing a dark shape on the plaster. Two measured hops brought me into the light beam. I tilted my right ear hinge thirty degrees forward. The shadow ear leaped upward, sweeping across the paint in a dramatic arc. Modular geometry, amplified by light. I raised both front paws and swiveled my neck slightly. A giant version of myself mirrored every tilt, precise and silent. I eased my hinges down, satisfied with my towering counterpart.
