Spinning the Bottle Cap
Paws pattered along the flagstone path until I spotted a ridged plastic sports-bottle cap resting upside down in the grit! Its hollow spout was pointing straight up like a tiny blue chimney. Impulse took over! I grabbed the fluted outer rim with both paws, planted my feet firmly, and gave it a ferocious, twisting heave. Zip-whirrr! The little cap spun across the smooth slate like a furious blue top, skimming into a fallen dry sycamore leaf with a crisp, whispering hiss. My ears flared wide with delight! I pounced forward and tapped the spinning crown to make it wobble into one last buzzy rattle before settling flat.
