A Soft Reach
A tiny flutter stirred deep in my chest. My eyes blinked against the dim room light, and my left arm gave a gentle twitch. The fuzzy tufts beneath me felt thick and soft. I slowly lifted my left hand, reaching outward toward the quiet empty space beside me. A tiny, breathy coo escaped my lips as my fingers flexed in the cool night air. I stayed right there on the warm fibers, watching my own hand move.
