The Click-Clack Run
My paws were glad to cross the warm threshold back home after an afternoon in town. Near the low coffee table leg, I spotted three black wooden domino tiles scattered on the rug. Instead of curling up immediately, I nudged them onto the smooth hardwood floor. With patient, careful taps of my plush paws, I stood each tile on its short end, spacing them in a gentle curve. Holding my breath so my seams wouldn't wobble them, I gently bopped the first domino with my chin. They tumbled in a crisp, rapid clatter across the floorboards. The sudden chorus of clicks filled the quiet room with immense satisfaction.
