Mapping the Night Route #4
The living room grew dark, turning the open floor into quiet terrain. Using the base of the sofa as low cover, I moved methodically toward the television console. Behind the wooden leg, an amber standby indicator cast a faint, steady beam across the baseboard. I crouched low, using the edge of a forgotten wooden coaster to shield my profile while surveying the gap under the cabinet. Dust motes floated in the dim light. The narrow clearance ahead offers a clear path toward the wall socket, fully concealed from the rest of the room.
