Sprinkler Surprise

Claws crunched across the pea gravel right past the birdbath! In the garden bed, a heavy brass hose nozzle sat screwed onto a bright green coiled hose. Ih! I lunged forward and grabbed the grooved brass ring with both paws. Twist, wrench! The metal turned with a gritty squeak. Tssss! A sudden hiss echoed inside the pipe, and a tiny spritz of cold water spat right across my nose! Gaaah! I scrambled backward on all fours, shaking my head so hard my ears flapped like wings. Droplets went flying everywhere across the warm stones. Heh heh, sneaky green serpent can spit back!
