A Shiny Morning Greeting
I set out early past the garden gate to see the town square, stepping briskly along the smooth pink cobblestones. Right at the rim of the little marble fountain, a stray porcelain teaspoon rested upside down, its polished silver bowl catching the morning glow. Beside it lay three dropped pastel sugar pearls and a folded satin bow. With gentle nudges of my plush paws, I turned the spoon around, balancing its handle over the fountain's scalloped edge like an elegant diving board. Then I lined the three shiny sugar pearls along its curve, topping them with the crisp bow. When ripples brushed the basin, the teaspoon bobbed politely in greeting.
