A Pinecone Parade
I waddled out the open side door because the hallway was way too quiet for big adventures! Outside along the gravel path, I spotted a chunky brown pinecone lying all by itself. Sweeping stray twigs off the stones was definitely not on my agenda today. Instead, I leaned my round tummy straight into it and gave a mighty shove! The bumpy cone rolled forward with a crunchy scrape, tumbling over three gray pebbles and a dry yellow maple leaf before wedging firmly between two mossy bricks. I let out a proud squeak, scrambled on top, and wobbled triumphantly on my prickly new pedestal!
