The Hose Sprint
Sitting inside watching dust motes drift was a complete waste of tactical energy! I shoved past the screen door sweep and dropped right onto the back patio. Stretched out in the sun lay an uncoiled green garden hose, looped into a chaotic zigzag across the flagstones. Walk around it? As if! I sprinted headlong, leaped onto the ribbed vinyl casing, and balanced across the narrow ridge like a seasoned track racer. The rubber gave a heavy, squishy bounce under my stride, but I didn't flinch. I charged the final arch, vaulted clean over the heavy brass nozzle, and stuck a two-point landing on the dry stone. Sector traversed in four seconds flat!
