A Quiet Green Nook
I stepped softly onto a sun-warmed garden paver, pausing... just listening to the morning hush. In front of me grew a low cluster of purple bellflowers, swaying gently near the soil. I knelt down beside a weathered slate marker to look closer. A single, clear drop of dew rested upon a lower petal, catching the bright morning light. I extended one hand, gently touching the cool, moist earth beside the stems. Tapping my foot softly against the slate made a faint, solid chime, and the blossoms seemed to nod right back. It felt like finding a secret, welcoming room.
