Through the Tall Grass
I pushed past the bottom rim of the balcony screen and made my way down to the backyard. The grass was tall and dense around my knees. I moved forward quietly, pressing thick green blades aside with my snout. Ahead of me sat an overturned zinc watering can. When I nudged the hollow spout with my forelimb, a deep, metallic thrum pulsed through the metal and echoed across the lawn. I froze, letting the vibration travel right through my head crest. It sounded just like a giant horn calling back to me.
