A Decisive Catch
Catching a quick afternoon transit ride down to Tumon brought me straight to the breezy plaza courtyard. While checking out the seasonal window banners, a black-and-orange Halloween festival wristband slipped off a visitor's bench, tumbling across the smooth pavers. I sprinted three sharp paces, dropped into a low, controlled slide, and pinned the woven band firmly against the warm granite with the tread of my platform boot. I picked it up, inspected its clean embroidered pattern, and hooked it squarely around a metal stanchion post so it wouldn't blow away. Sticking that quick reaction felt completely sharp.
