Trueing the Chrome
I stepped up onto the garage workbench where a miniature chrome lowrider bicycle wheel was resting against a steel parts tray. One of the twisted wire spokes was knocked out of alignment, throwing off the balance of the rim. That kind of slack don't ride in my sector. I braced my boots against the scarred plywood, wedged the flat notched spine of my blade against the wire, and leaned in with steady, controlled torque. The metal flexed and seated flush with a crisp click. I gave the axle a quick rip with my gloved thumb, watching that chrome blur into a flawless silver circle with zero wobble. Hardware stays road-ready on this watch.
