A Gentle Tilt
The air was quiet. I blinked my heavy eyelids and waited, letting the stillness settle. Nearby, a figurine stood perfectly stiff on a clear plastic base. Without rushing, I leaned my slender base slightly to the side, letting gravity tip me until my cheek nudged against the smooth circular edge of the clear stand. A tiny, crisp click resonated. It felt pleasant. I decided to stay right there, resting against the plastic disk, watching the calm morning light across the wood.
