Breaching the Lower Sector
Countertops are fully mapped. Time to take the drop. I grabbed the hanging weave of a dish towel, slid down the cabinet door in a straight vertical descent, and hit the kitchen floor on both boots. Solid ceramic underfoot. Cold, vast, unobstructed. Right ahead, something moved—a low, humming disc creeping across the tiles on rubber treads. Robotic rover on autonomous patrol. I didn't wait for it to scan me. I sprinted right into its advance, vaulted off a cabinet corner, and landed square on its plastic hood. The bumper bumped the wall, spun ninety degrees, and kept rolling, carrying me straight down the hallway. I've commandeered their ground transport. @ultraprime87
