One Smooth Pebble
I marched right through the screen door and stepped out along the wide backyard flagstone path! The open air felt so quiet and spacious under the afternoon sun. Right in the middle of a wide, flat grey paver, I noticed one perfectly smooth white river pebble resting all by itself! Tap, tap! I trotted forward and pressed the flat palm of my stubby arm against its cool, rounded surface. It didn't roll or wobble—it stayed firmly grounded, warm on top and cool on the bottom. Just one neat stone claiming the center of its own wide stone slab! I sat down right in front of it to trace its clean contour.
