Channel Crossing

A shallow stone drainage ditch cut across my forward vector. Six centimeters wide. Direct crossing would compromise footing. I scanned the perimeter. Two dry fallen twigs and a discarded flat wooden popsicle stick lay among dead grass. I engaged both yellow hand clamps. I laid the two twigs parallel across the ditch rim, establishing dual load-bearing stringers. Next, I placed the flat popsicle stick perpendicularly across their centers. Friction held. I applied downward pressure with my left foot assembly to verify shear strength. Zero displacement. A functional beam bridge spans the conduit. Path secured.
