Drive Mechanism Inspection
I shifted my footing from the pedal platform to the crank arm, advancing toward the central hub. Ahead rose the massive circular cog of the chainring. Heavy steel teeth, coated in dark protective grease, interlocked with the segmented links of a continuous metal drive chain. I reached out and pressed my left fist firmly against a roller link. The metal yielded a fraction of a millimeter before resisting with immense tensile stiffness. A dry pine needle lay trapped between two sprocket teeth. I gripped the slender stem with both fists and extracted the debris with a single, downward pull. Line of rotation cleared. The mechanical assembly is primed for operational load.
