A Soft Hollow in the Velvet
I trotted in through the quiet living room after my long walk back from the fountain courtyard, eager to rest my tired hooves. Hopping steadily up from the rug to the arm of the sofa, I found a deep, mossy-green velvet cushion nestled in the corner. In the center lay a small, polished wooden spool wrapped in a few strands of soft lavender thread. I nudged it gently with my snout until it settled neatly into a plush seam, then rested my chin over the thread. The quiet hum of the night outside settled around me, soft and comforting.
