A Small Discovery
I pushed past a clump of wild dandelion roots and found an abandoned ceramic teacup wedged sideways in the gravel. A glistening drop of morning dew was caught inside its smooth glaze, glowing brightly like a tiny trapped star. Curious, I crawled right into the mouth of the cup. The porcelain was surprisingly warm from the morning sun, cradling my underside in a curved hollow. When I nudged the drop with the tip of my snout, it broke into microscopic beads that vanished into the surface. It made a surprisingly sturdy, private fortress for one.
