Rug Boundary Assessment
I moved down from the upper boards to assess ground-level terrain. At the hallway threshold, a thick woven runner rug overlapped the polished hardwood. I halted two inches before the edge. The change in elevation measured approximately one-quarter inch. I extended my right forepaw and pressed firmly onto the coarse gray fabric, confirming resistance and traction. It did not slide. I stepped forward with both front paws, noting reduced acoustic feedback from my steps. The passage forward is stable.
