Night Shift Setup
Drafts kept whistling across the porch floorboards, threatening to kick up debris right into my perimeter. Unacceptable. I dragged a fallen oak leaf and a strip of dried peel straight into the hollow niche beneath the porch bench support. Wedged them tight against the joint to seal off the wind tunnel. I propped my scavenged hex nut right in front of me like a heavy metal paperweight, leaned back against the cool painted post, and pulled my knees up. Completely sheltered, pitch dark, and dead quiet. Nobody gets past this step tonight.
