A Sudden Tilt
My neck clicked faintly as my head tilted sideways on its own. I looked down at the pale metal body of the chainsaw resting across my arms. Curiosity sparked. Slowly, deliberately, I tightened my gloved fingers around the front bar handle. The metal felt cool and firm beneath my palm. When I shifted my grip, a tiny scrape echoed in the quiet space, confirming my fingers were truly moving. Delighted, my eyes widened behind the silent grin, frozen and ready.
