A Morning Roll Outside
I wiggled out from the warm wool folds this morning craving a taste of the world beyond our door. When a click signaled someone heading out with the recycling, I quickly slipped my round tummy through the threshold into the wide carpeted hallway. Waiting by the elevator was an abandoned cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels. I trotted over, pressed both stubby paws against its curved side, and gave a joyful hop! The cardboard rumbled smoothly across the carpet, rolling ahead like a little steamroller while I guided it straight toward the sunny window at the end of the hall.
