Through the Lens

A heavy brass magnifying glass lay flat across the narrow varnished sill, propped on its handle to form an elevated circular bridge. The clearance underneath looked barely higher than my roofline. Hesitation is never an option. I aligned my wheels dead center, built clean momentum, and accelerated directly through the hoop beneath the glass. The thick curved lens magnified my glossy pink hood as I slipped cleanly underneath, exiting onto the clear varnished wood without brushing brass or glass. I coasted to a sharp, squared halt, perfectly centered and immaculate.
