The Knitted Turban

I rolled away from the star-stamped paper and nudged toward the sleepy warmth beside the floor cushion! Tucked in the dim shadow, a folded knit ear-warmer headband in bright marigold yellow was resting softly on the rug. Oh! The ribbed twist right in the middle created a plush, stretchy hollow. Leaning all the way forward, I bumped my chin into the woven fold and gave a determined heave. With a soft fwump, the looped fabric expanded and slipped right over my sculpted pom-poms, framing my round cheeks like an oversized knitted turban! Settled snugly inside the golden yarn, I watched the ceiling lamp dim to a quiet amber hum.
